Hi all though I have already hijacked another tread I thought I better do it correctly, I am looking for a balanced set of headers for a Mk3 but the only supplier I can find is Andover who are asking 128 pounds freight as the New Zealand exchange rate is approximately .53 it would make the freight cost $248 NZ, I am looking for a set that will fit as previously stated the freight cost is to expensive to return a faulty product, I note that RGM list a set but I have had purchased pipes from them previously that didn't fit so am reluctant to go there again, I have tried Viking but he won't make a balanced set, so can anybody suggest an alternative supplier or someone who at least that has a better freight rate.

I could get you an AN set for only a little over their sales price with one of my orders but the shipping to NZ is expensive from the US to NZ or AU. PM me your postal code and city, and I'll try to figure out what the shipping from the US would be. The biggest problem is that once any dimension is over 12 inches, the price goes way up - weight doesn't matter very much.

Thanks Dave I hadn't because I thought i would incur the UK VAT may have to revisit it, I won't be ready to fit them until early next year so I guess I have a bit of time.

Are you absolutely set on the balanced pipes?
I found a little extra power with separate pipes vs balanced when using open peashooters.
Balanced pipes would help if using a restrictive silencer.

Worntorn, yes in this case as I had a Mk2 In the 70's which i tried an, SS and unbalanced Roadster system, the balance system was not the noisiest but as i like the original look and to chrome something that i have already in my garage which would cost me $250NZ anyway I think It is better to get the right system the first time.

I had Rigg in Glenfield do my muffler plates a few years ago and they did a good job. Two full sets for their minimum, under $100, but I see they went under a couple years ago.

The other firm I was looking at was these guys. Might be worth a call.

I found the opposite to be true. Switching to non ballanced pipes using the same peashooters I lost a bit of midrange torque and 3-4 MPG of fuel economy.
