I was noticing that nearly any mk 3 I interact with has earlier pipes incorrectly fitted, with the primary chaincase rubbing on the left hand side. Another issue is the retention of the original muffler hangers when switching to peashooters.
I do see header exhaust pipes made especially for mk 3 being advertised, but not in Aust.
I decided to obtain some, and do a test fit.

The headers I used have the correct mk 3 style bell-mouth, so are used with the standard spherical fitting, and retaining collet. The are non crossover type.
I have found the bends to fit well, finish is good, and line up peashooters correctly with the rear rubber mountings, without having to force them inwards.
They are long on the "tail" so may suit other mufflers that are not quite as long as peashooters. They did require shortening to fit the Andover peashooter 06.1978, which was done easily.
Clearance on the left is excellent, pipes look uniform from the front.
They are made in the USA.

So if you do not have the correct pipes on your mk 3, you may want to try these. I found them to be good. A quick pic, just to give an idea of their "line".

If you mean the ones for sale by Commando Specialties, then I agree. I got a set and am very happy with them. It helped that I wasn't fleeced by HM Customs, sometimes stuff gets through without paying up and sometimes it doesn't.

These are indeed the same brand, but of course I keep them in stock and sell them locally(meaning in Australia), and also of course, I sell them for less (allowing for exchange rate and shipping naturally). Much quicker delivery typically when you buy locally.

Good news. Just getting my mk111 together now and need new headers. Expect my order shortly - and some other goodies as well.
