mirrors

There has to be a ton of used ones floating about for sale. I know my pair are packed away in a box somewhere and I'll never use them again.

I just adopt the rule of Italian driving (I think it came from a movie but I don't know which one) : "What's behind you is not important" :)

Mike I like your philosophy, but unfortunately mirrors are a requirement and I hate round mirrors, so I'd like to find stock looking mirrors for my somewhat stock bike. the glass keeps shaking loose after a few years and the one mirror I have left is getting loose. I tried getting the glass out so I could re glue it to the metal, but I can't bend the lip w/o cracking the glass. I also want a quality set.

Yeah...next thing you know they will be putting 15% ethanol in the gas!

Oh wait... http://content.usatoday.com/communities ... -10-now-/1

They say it's only required for late model cars BUT if anyone can explain how the government could ensure that drivers of newer cars did not put E10 in their later model cars at the gas station, I'd like to hear it. IMO, the only way to ensure it is to make sure that ONLY E15 is available.

I am not one to appreciate the law and control they impose upon us, so I only have one mirror because for some reason I am never questioned about it. I also removed the turn signals because the lucas things are god awful ugly things. Once I got stopped and told the cop it was a 72 titled as a 73 and thats the way the bike came. Either he didn't really care or he had no clue, probably both.

Avoid the ones with Stainless Steel mounting stems. Both of mine fractured, fatigue failure.

Mick

good to know. I ordered one head today from old britts. I'll see if the mirrors are good. If so I may order the other one and will avoid the stainless stems, thanks.
