Measurements needed

Could folks measure between the plates for the top shock mounts for me, I am trying to determine if my frame has been "mashed" ('1972).

I just measured 0.740" on my 71 frame close to the tube.
Same on the 74 frame.
I was expecting to see a round number like 3/4 "
 
Uh what is being left out is its takes more than one manual to cover the scope of a Commando and then forums to cover the scope of manual errors and stuff that ain't made no more.
 
I have not looked in a Commando manual for 20 years, I'm sure there is one around here somewhere. I do have a parts book though.

Which is why I took the time out of my day to go outside and measure two frames. :D
