Question to any Maney belt drive users out there:

How many pulley teeth are on the front and rear pulleys? I'd just like to compare the ratio to what I have.

And, have you been happy with the durability etc of the product?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Eddie

I will go & have a count up for you, as front pully size is dependant on running an altered primary inner cover.
I have a Maney clutch on the racebike & the roadbike. More money than Norvil but in honesty the basket is not the problem they all seem to work well. What does make all the difference is the quality of the clutch centre & here Steves quality is obvious.

Hi, I only know the race MAney which is 38/70 with a 40mm belt , you could make it fit an alternator with some fettling.....! it's a nice product , though , I had used Norvil's one without any problems, I think(just guess!!) his road one are 34/*70, buit someone must confirm.
Your 23 teeth gearbox sprocket is large enough , if I was you , I will go to a 21 and thus increase the front pulley , to stay with a nice overall ratio,or taller (as you may want!).

Thanks guys.

A 30mm belt 36 / 70 sounds pretty bang on for my requirements.

It would raise the gearing and speed up the gearbox nicely.

Guess I'll be on the phone to Steve on Monday...

Great product. I love it. Looks like a piece of art. Functions like it should.
When I purchased mine, Steve said it geared up the equivalent of 1 tooth. I fitted a 19t sprocket which gives me a 20t equivalent. I fitted the 19t as I do a lot of traffic light to traffic light riding as I ride daily to work. It's nice but will probably eventually go to a 21t.
I was offered a 15t output sprocket once. That could have been interesting

Steven Maney makes an adapter to mount Lucas alternator enclosed under cover with his 40 mm belt drive. ~2:1 primary ratio does allow higher speed in lower gears which with Norton torque means accelerating better longer.
