It being to hot to go for a ride or work in the garage I looked up Mahindra BSA. There are concept pictures of the new BSA's. Some are really cool and others not so much.

Of all of them I like the Gold Star Guardian best.
Take a minute and check them out. According to the story I read they are going to start production in 2019 with exports to Europe and the US to follow soon.

The concepts are misleading as the artist is nothing to do with Mahindra.
Well that's disappointing. I did like that concept picture. One of the articles said that Mahindra was looking to go into production in 2019, wonder if that is true?

Looks like they are planning a large capacity single, if they buy the engine in then they could use Rotax engines, they did a 652cc single for BMW and must have updated versions on paper. This would allow them to shorten the development time.

news has it they will use the same engines that they use in their version of the jawa the largest being a 332cc . dont think that will sell well, brexit deal is now done with india , so awaiting news of when and where factory will be in the uk

The styling is good. Horsepower decent, torque a bit disappointing (29 ft lbs @ crank)
Weight is the big question. If it is heavy like the RE Interceptor (529 lb on scales!!), then not so great.

It sure looks at least as heavy.

A week after they hit the sales floor, there will be people offering "hop up" stuff, so not to worry. The factory has to tame them with gazizmos to pass emissions.

Correction the reviewer that weighed the RE Interceptor reported 569 lbs, not 529.
I wonder if his scale is correct.
How could it weigh that much, lead pipe frame?

First thing that caught my eye was the size of that downpipe.... Replacements available at all branches of Wickes or B and Q...

New bsa owner knows his stuff starting with 650cc & ease of acquisition vs Norton, so far.

They had the luxury or sense to fly under the radar for a few years working on this bike, I note its nothing like the rendered guesses put out as close to fact so a tight ship. TVS were out in the open and being stared at from the beginning.

Yeah I thought the same. Looks very wrong to me. And once you’ve noticed it, that’s it !

From some angles I think the bike looks good. From others it looks like a bad caricature !
