Can somebody recommend a person or company that can replace the capacitor in a magneto?
The magneto in question had been rebuilt about 20 years ago, but now doesn't spark anymore after sitting for that length of time.
Thanks for any responses.

In circumstances like this, it is a good idea to say whereabouts you are on the planet, however, it may not be entirely necessary to have someone do this work for you.

Our patented EasyCap™ is a simple replacement for the condenser (capacitor) in many ignition systems, focusing especially on that old problem, the deeply-buried condenser found in all rotating-coil magnetos. Once fitted, the EasyCap becomes a routine service item. Initial installation does require the old condenser to be disconnected. We provide detailed instructions in our 'condensectomy' pages on how to do that. We also provide downloadable drawings for those of you who wish to make the required puller tool yourselves. Alternatively, you can send us your armature or magneto, and we'll do the job for you.

There is a mega thread on BritBike.com about magnetos should you wish to learn more than you thought necessary.
Search on Magnetoman.

Joe's V Cycle did a great job at a very reasonable price on the last magneto that I had repaired.

If you are in the US, I would recommend Doug Wood <dougwood@netzero.net>. Doug is in PA.

If you opt for the Brightspark DIY, go to their website .... they describe the procedure necessary to remove the old capacitor. IMO, it is a daunting task.

You might also review the following thread, there are some remarks about the Brightspark caps.

With some magnetos, installing the brightspark is as simple as snipping a wire or 2, and attaching them as described.

They won't cure everything, if the wiring is a corroded green mess....
