Hello Gents,

My 850 has the large square rear light which I have always thought looks plain awful. I call it the Fridge.

I'd like to fit the earlier Lucas 679 Rear light, often charmingly referred to in Blighty as the tit shaped rear light.

But the Fridge has the Indicator mounts on it and as far as I know the 679 lamps were never fitted with Indicators?

Has anyone successfully combined Indicators with the 679? Is a mounting bracket available?

Indicators were fitted 1971-on, the square 917 tail lamp wasn't introduced until late 1972.

Thanks LAB,

Were the 71-on Indicators mounted on the 679 Rear Light bracket or somewhere else? In other words, is there a 679 mounting bracket that accepts indicators?

I have been keeping a weather eye out at jumbles and bike shows but all the 679s I see are sitting on OIF BSA/Triumphs where the Indicators are mounted on the grab rail.

Some 71 Commandos had indicators (as indicators were an optional extra for '71) and I expect by 1972 just about all rear light brackets would have had indicator mountings.

The '72 rear lamp support bracket is part 06-2038

Wonderful, Thanks ever so LAB.

So it definitley exists. Looks like that might bolt straight on to a MK3. I'll get trawling through the Norvil online catalogue, etc.

Many thanks
