Fastback rear light

37 years ago when I bought my Commando it had been fitted with a Roadster tank, seat and rear mudguard (fender). The rear light fitting included part no. 060644 "cowl tail lamp" I have since returned it to Fastback trim. The question is, is this cowl still fitted between rear light and licence plate on the Fastback or is it ommitted? ie. the number plate screws directly on the back of the fibre glass seat unit and into the light unit.

060644 appears in the '68 parts list (when the only Commando model available was what later became known as the Fastback).

060644 is also listed under 'COMMON FITTINGS' in the '71 & '72 parts books.

Mk 1 , 2 & 3 fastbacks . early PR rear guard is Mk1 fastback . with the No Plate mount .

Incedently saw one at meet with semi recessed tail light , Looks like the lens would fit in flush with cowl rear edge , just cone protudeing .
Stuffs up the side projection of red light , but a nice coustom touch . a frenched taillight .
