Low fuel light

Hi folks, I've just done the flashing neutral light fix (thanks again Tony) and while I was in the speedo case anyway, I did the patch cable to the low fuel light supply as i've never seen mine come on. Should it illuminate when you turn on the ignition ?

No . Only when the fuel level drops to about 1/2 gal remaining . If you want to drain the fuel out you can test it this way.

From an empty tank to full,measured carefully 15 1/2 litres.

I think you can only access about 3.5 US Gallons without being close to running out. So , that seems about right . 15.5 L = 4.09 US gallons . You will never get to all of the gas , you "might" get to 3.6 US gal or 3.7 US gal. but that's really pushing it !

I'm pleased to say the light came on yesterday

(and the neutral light has stopped winking at me).
