Lots of ‘old hat’ Matt! You know Norton has moved to Solihull and are making bikes again right!? 😄

I’m pretty sure I said “profits”.
You’re saying income.

Profit as in:
a financial gain, especially the difference between the amount earned and the amount spent in buying, operating, or producing something:

To not get Stephen upset and whiny at me, I’ll stay on the original topic.
We all know fairy tails can be misleading.

Let’s not say SG Nortons.

Instead, let’s get false advertisement
“Made in Donington” stickers made and put them on a motorcycle that has much of its parts made outside of the UK.
TVS Norton will be no different.

Do the correct thing Stephen. Get the stickers made to say….

Assembled in Donington, made by imported parts.
Ride at own risk.
Repaired by imported tools.
Ah V2D3 my friend, I do look forward to your daily diatribe!

I distinctly remember forgetting that you always seem to contradict yourself - sometimeso_O!! We Donington Norton owners seem to meet your strongly held criteria, but we shouldn’t identify our bikes as such? Tres confus (that’s French)!

Donington Norton’s were built in Donington UK, in a British factory, owned by a British citizen, next to a British race track, by British people, with profits going back to the British economy, whilst enjoying the full support of the British government!!! The bike could’nt be any more British unless they’d got it to run on breakfast tea!!🤔

Ah but wait, not all parts were manufactured in the same country! That would be a valid point, if it did’nt also describe every motorcycle made by man on the face of the earth. Think I’ll stick with ‘Donington Norton’ and advertise it with as many Donington Norton decals as I please. I’m also gonna get some Donington’Y-fronts’ made up!

As for TVS, same as all the above! Does it matter where the money comes from? Does’nt seem to bother the Italians - Ducati is owned by the Germans after all:oops:!

Funny thing is, not even TVS uses the “Made in England” decal anymore on the air box.
Because it’s misleading.

Do they use the emblem on the dash saying “Hand built in Solihull” ?

Oh and once again, I didn’t originally mention SG Donington Norton, you again brought that up. Not me.

Interesting definition - always good to have the law on your side. Birmingham Norton has got this one nailed you would think.

No need to remove the Union Jack from the rear of this beauty then, for fear of ‘misleading’ prospective buyers 🤣 !

🤣Same as the bike is for fun (and transport) the forum is for entertainment (and technical content). Long may it continue! Ya can only have so many threads on Chinese relays before you simply have to discuss the merits of supercharging the 961 and argue about whether you could source the spares for an exploded engine!! Just saying;)!

However, now that we have the NOUVO 961, there will be plenty of replacement parts for any that suffer a supercharger related engine explosion. I predict a new 961SC supercharged Commando - the **SuperCommando**.
With 3 rider modes: Rain, Road, OMG!
Good times ahead!:p

Given that this subject has sparked a bit of delicious (if dubious) debate and threatens to wind a few people up, I thought I’d re-introduce it! ;)

Looked at multiple locations for the clearly essential ‘Donington Norton‘ decal. Settled on the smallest of the decals, forward of the petrol cap.

Niff naff and trivia - ya gotta love it!

In late and rather ironic news, I am led to understand that the material used in the manufacture of the decal came from C#^@a!!!

Should help to spark further discussion as well.
I'll begin....
How about a label with the phrase - "Yeah, Not Your Daddy's Norton, So What!🖕"
But said with love.
