Let's not say SG Nortons

But a lot of that Triumph is not made in England either . Probably comes from Pacific Rim , which includes Thailand etc. We know the Norton is built in England with some British content. I am just happy that they are making it at all.
I agree, but it’s owned by an India brand and owner.
I’m assuming the profits (when TVS sells Norton motorcycles) will go back to India.

Triumph is owned by a British citizen and also offers UK made bikes.

So, an English owner like, say, SG? Those profits staying in the UK was good, yeah?

Owners can come from anywhere and be d%&ks. I'm not aware that's geographically constrained.

I don’t recall mentioning SG’s name as an example.

But since you mentioned him, you also fell for his scam, after all, you bought a 961.

Crooks come from all over. We had one as an ex president and he won’t go away.

When Honda, Toyota, Kia, Audi, Ferrari, etc etc etc sell a vehicle the profits go back to its headquarter land.

I highly doubt Norton has made any profit yet. In fact I know they haven’t. After all, all they talked about for over 2 years was that state of the art building that cost millions.

Don’t fall for it Gojuu, it’s a trapo_O!

Voodoo will lead you off topic, up the garden path and down the rabbit hole! Even Alice doesn’t fall for that anymore!!;)

Not true. Income isn't just generated at the parent company.

When a vehicle is sold, the channel makes profit not just the manufacturer. To the manufacturer they may be seen as overheads, but to the channel partners they are profit. Adverting agency's, the sales guys, the spare parts guys, production of ads, the real estate that rent/sells dealerships, these people all get paid within the economy they are in, and spend that money there. That aids the local economy.

I’m pretty sure I said “profits”.
You’re saying income.

Profit as in:
a financial gain, especially the difference between the amount earned and the amount spent in buying, operating, or producing something:

To not get Stephen upset and whiny at me, I’ll stay on the original topic.
We all know fairy tails can be misleading.

Let’s not say SG Nortons.

Instead, let’s get false advertisement
“Made in Donington” stickers made and put them on a motorcycle that has much of its parts made outside of the UK.
TVS Norton will be no different.

Do the correct thing Stephen. Get the stickers made to say….

Assembled in Donington, made by imported parts.
Ride at own risk.
Repaired by imported tools.

Have we not exhausted the the original topic of this thread?
Let's move on, and focus on the NEW 961, and feedback from owners and testers.
Hopefully, there will be some shortly.
I agree
Let's move on from the Garner built ones and talk about the new Indian ones 🤔 ;)

Since we all now know that the components are sourced from around the world, perhaps we can call the NEW 961:
the GLOBAL COMMANDO 961!
It gives the NEW 961 a rather striking, dynamic new image, no?

In terms of thinking of a ‘new’ name, and applying that name to the bike, this guy beat y’all to it:

For those who can’t quite make it out, or don’t already know, the bike is called “The Swindler”…

The owner/designer of the Swindler was probably the first disgruntled owner to confront SG about the 961's many defects. He got an unsatisfactory response from SG, and the Swindler was born.
The name was providential for sure.

Yes I believe that’s pretty much the story.
