Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has come across a rattle in the Lansdowne Commando forks during compression and rebound? It sounds like a top bushing loose or similar. Just wanted to know if there was an upgraded repair available.

Many thanks 👍🏻

Maybe my question is too complicated for the members, it is a rather technical question, maybe Id be better joining a more savvey forum..?

Yes, seen a couple of time here already, it is the thinwall internally and externally threaded piece that screws into the top bolt.

Thanks to those who made valid replies.... There's always the prats who don't say anything then when you post something they don't like they're onto the post like flies on sh*t, and about as informative... 😂 😂

Who is it here who always says, "Dont guess, Inspect!" and where the hell are you when we need you... 🤣
🤣😎🍻
There are so many "sacred cows" that get some all emotional.
I kinda watched this one for a while.
There are several things that cause clunking.
The long bushings did nothing for mine.
My latest fork rattle is the fender stays. Sounds just like internal clunk from topping out.

Dude, you're throwing a lot of scat around the cage.

Be patient, some of us have jobs/lives.

If you think you'll find more talent elsewhere, good luck with that.

More information would help to elicit the most helpful answers.

People here know nothing about your bike, or you (ie your knowledge of Nortons or mechanical ability, etc).

Describing an abnormal noise is difficult. But ‘rattle under compression or rebound’ could be many, many, things, from fork internals to mudguard stays, to floating discs, to steering head bearings and more.

This forum IS the most tech savvy for Norton Commandos that you will find. No question. I certainly wouldn’t have got what I have out of mine without the expert, and none expert, help I’ve received from this forum.

So I’d like to welcome you to this forum (and to Commando ownership assuming you’re new to it) and respectfully suggest that more informed questions, and a little more patience, will definitely serve you well should you choose to remain on this forum.

If there's not enough information on my initial post for anyone to understand what I'm asking then tbh I don't want to hear their opinions.
