Last year I installed a set of JRC (PWK) flatside carbs on my bike and now I'd like to install a cable operated "choke", as reaching the right carbs enricher is almost impossible without getting off the bike. So I bought all the parts to do it but cannot find any cables that will work. I've tried the cables from JRC's kit, stock choke cables, my throttle cables and another miscellaneous cable that I had lying around. Nothing worked, its like all the cables I have the inner cable is too long. Has anyone here been successful in doing this? If so what cables did you use?

Thanks!

Gary

I have done it and it is not easy, you have to make the cables from scratch. There is nothing one can buy to bolt on. Start with a splitter and measure your cable lengths. Build the system on the bench, you can see the enriching port in the throat at back of the carb to ensure that the mechanism lifts off the jet. It sure does beat standing on head to reach the stock choke. Good luck

Check the Venhill website. They have nice kits. They also have all the supplies needed to clip ypour cable inner and add a new end. It is not hard to do and they offer instructions on how to do it right.

That being said, when I had my PWK's, I started withoput issue by just pulling the left side enrichener. I never would leave it on for more the a couple seconds due to the fact that the plugs can soot up. And you are no more north than I am, being somewhere around the 43rd.

I was afraid of that. I've not had much luck making my own cables in the past but I'll have another try at it and if it doesn't work I'll have to have a set made up somewhere.

Thanks!
