Sorry maybe wrong place to start a new thread but the motorcycle shows Henry Cole and Sam Lovegrove of Shed and Buried visits Donington Hall he was one of the first 961 owners he did some great promotional work with Norton when the 961 was launched ITV 4 tonight a 21.00

Looking forward to you changing your profile picture ,as much as I adore seventies 2 strokes, the 961 has , as we say , has just got it

yes mate had it from new just rebuilding it.Raced it in the 70s it has a Mez head 5 speed box crank balanced to 70% sodium cooled valves stelite hardened cams engine plates gussets all welded they cracked because in the 70s we never used stands the nearest wall to lean the bike was good enough so had to weld up the stand mounting holes. Thats why i live near Silverstone handy for all the midlands tracks

Wow, very nice John, nice to have the history too!

You’re only up the road!

Fancy joining us to Krazy Horse on Sat ?

Watched the show last night. They went round Donington Hall with the aim of doing a flat track Commando. Will be interesting to see what kind of a job they do. They were also restoring an old Harley. Quite cool actually.

Would love to Eddie but still waiting for delivery of my bike.Contacted Clem today but he was with a customer and did not reply to me will call him tomorrow. Ordered bike on the 2nd of Feb which makes 12 week build time the30th of April I intend visiting the factory on the 3rd of May and see the bike start a few times , the oil cap removal and oil level check, the Finnish and build quality i shall then have the bike collected by a bike delivery company i know and delivered to my home on the 4th.I hope to get it run in quickly return it to Donington for all the good parts to be fitted and serviced as with luck just in time for summer.

We will allow none 961s to join by special invite John... bring yer stinkwheel...

Sorry mate got a ride out with with Suzuki club been planed for long time as weather should be good. When i get my bike we must all meet up but planning to go to the Anniversary bash at Donington . There seems a cheaper hotel near the factory other than the Priest House.

That’s fine.

We understand if you hold your Suzuki mates in higher esteem than us.

And we won’t hold it against you...

Let the guy have a last ride on the Suzuki.

Once he's running with his remapped Norton he will see the error of his ways and the Suzuki will probably be left unused.....
