So, after two months of chasing paperwork, my Norton is legal and titled in my name. The story:

I bought a bunch of parts on the first of May that had been sitting in a basement for 25 (+) years. The seller had the parts for a future project that never materialized. I ran a title history request, a NCIC check at the local P.D., all came up empty; never titled or registered in the state, or reported stolen. I was told by the DMV to fill out affidavit for title. I did this and sent pictures of the parts etc to the DMV. They sent everything back...not enough info.

I sent a doctoral dissertation about how I came across the bike parts and waited. After a month, I get my approval letter yesterday. I paid the DMV this morning and my title will be here in a couple of weeks. Total cost (minus postage, pics, etc) was 65 dollars.

Theres no real point to this post other than to say if your bike is ancient and probably purged from the DMV records, you might try this track with your local DMV as opposed to a title mill.

Now, everyone send me mucho MK3 parts
(ha ha ha)

Your personal info doesn't list what state you are in, but some of us are interested to know...

I got the message loud and clear crazywoodworker and my respects for working around the surface rules and going to the men that are supposed to serve us. Another level of education needed for fully fettering a Commando.
