Ive finally bought a box of new bolts and nuts to install the engine breather on the back of the engine. I am missinbg whats called the seperator (Part no 062615) is this part really needed? If so what could I use to make on before I install the breather housing..?

Cheers, Jim

I guess it is safe to assume your have a 72. If your case is original then oil is likely to pass oil through this breather. Although this foam is quite porous, if soaked with oil it can be a restriction and contribute to the crank pressure problem.
I would eliminate the foam separator and incorporate a "Mike'sXS" one way check valve. Although opinions vary, I position mine higher to create an "L" in the routing of the lines and so that oil does not hinder operation of the reed valve.

Drill a drain hole next to the reed. Oil can drain back down if it needs to.

Don't need but the long hose straight off the crankcase as even with the baffle in breather fitting, when Combat's wet sump they send a thick strong jet of oil via this secondary return back to the tank. Don't sweat it, forgetablut and ride in confidence.
