Is the frame the same on a roadster and an interstate?

Yes. All the frames are basically the same, with some model year specific items.

1968 =widowmaker frame
1968-1970 frame mounted center stand
1975 frame loop gussets larger
most years have different side stand lugs.


engine mounting and rear iso mounting points the same on all.

The frame is the same on both but the interstate has a much larger gas tank and side covers and headlight, also the seat on the interstate sits farther back due to the larger gas tank.

Thanks fellas, I thought so, and hate to ask stuff I can look up, but it has been driving me crazy, and I just could not find it.

Hi Guys,
I hope im not being too picky but the Interstate also had stainless mudguards while the Roadster had Chrome guards.
Well this was the case for 72/73 750 models anyway.
Dont you just hate know it all Commando owners.

True for '72, but by '73 both models supposedly had stainless mudguards, well,-that's what the parts books say, but no doubt there were some exceptions!
