Installing new fork lock?

I need to replace my fork lock on my Commando. I have a new one, but don't know how to get the old one out and the new one in - any suggestions? Thanks - B

If it is pre-850 Mk3, then tap the old one upwards and it should pop out?

850 Mk3 is the opposite way, but it is normally secured by a pin on the underside of the yoke which needs to be removed first.

A mistake in the design if I may say so.

I found this fact out, outside of a pub one night when I dropped my key down a drainage hole. That key was separate from the ignition key, thank God, but gone none the less. I knocked the lock up and out with my pocket knife.

2 seconds to steal a bike...cool.

The next lock got installed with a tiny hole in the triple tree, threaded and an allen headed set screw.

Almost no one, carries an allen wrench in their pocket :wink:
