I painted my own 1974 roadster black and gold stripes. (No idea what it was originally)

But in retrospect I really really like that red !!! (Time Warps post 8)

Roy says that 74 options were:
"Pacific blue with silver, black with gold, candy apple red with gold, tangerine with white, and the r,w,b already discussed)"

Well I think "Tangerine" was used on Hi-Riders (although the 2/2A supp. says: "Tangerine, no trim").

I have an original 74 Norton advert that shows a Hi-Rider in tangerine with twin Interstate type stripes around the tank, and the 850 type side panels with the 2/1 stripes.
the colours advertised on the poster are:-
Black/gold,
pacific blue/silver,
deep toned candy apple,
new first time blue stripe finish
tangerine (Hi Rider only)

Would this be the Pacific Blue?
The photo makes it look quite light, but the colour was pretty dark, where it's the 'in the shade' being pretty representative.
Reminded me of my MkII Escort back when I were a lad ;)

According to the 2/2a supp. it's Interstate "Blue" which is, as you say, somewhat darker, than Pacific Blue which has been discussed at some length before, as it would appear to be another name for Fireflake Royal Blue.

Or there's always the MK2A in classic Black & Gold ;)

That very much looks like it could be orijjinal paint - darker vinyls and brighter gold pinstripes ?
Very nice....

Great pic.

If we could get a full set of these, for each year, it would make a great archive of what each years colours were.

We wish. If only....

That Interstate blue has been discussed before. (restored bike, note).
Its a solid blue (not metallic)(not candy apple)(not metalflake).
About what is sometimes called a navy blue ?

But we diverge, since Roadsters are being asked here.
