750 Commando LH cylinder smoking at idle (warm?)

It just recently caught my attention. I haven’t made a move. As an aircraft mechanic, this isn’t going to drill a smoking hole in the ground from 10k feet if the engine fails. I need to do a dynamic compression test and a differential compression test (leak down) i just have a lot on my plate and thoughts that keep me up at night…

With aircraft, people’s lives are at stake, and i get paid.

The norton is just one of many hyper fixations that don’t pay the bills

A cheap borescope down the spark plug holes will tell you a lot. Compare the two piston crowns, dry looking carbon build up could be over rich mixture, wet looking carbon build up towards the rear of the piston will indicate inlet stem seals, wet looking carbon build up all over could be rings
