I need new pistons for a 750??

Hi there, , as I am to rebore to +0,40 ,one set of jugs I need to buy new pistons, , I was happy with GPM before but now my UK dealer seems to supply only the JP ones ........in the US I could find the JCC, but they seem to have the one piece oil control ring,and previously I had some bad experiences with oil smoking through those one piece rings..........I had asked to MAP who supplied the pistons bare if he could supply "good" rings with them , but no answer......so my next question what is the depth of the rings grooves in those taiwaneese ,so I could order the correct rings to fit without machining the pistons grooves!

Any of the JCC pistons I have used are built for the late model 3 piece oil ring. I have not seen any with shallow grooves. Jim

I put a set of JCC pistons with the rings and wrist pins supplied in my 750 about 1,500 miles ago.
They have the three piece oil rings.
Pistons certainly looked well made and I'm happy with performance so far.

Hi, I had just ordered a set of JCC , will see when they come if they have three pieces oil rings or not, if not will order a set of proper rings from RGm...........a soon as I will get the pistons , I could give them to my mechanic shop for measuring them and bore the jugs with a 4 thou tolerance.........

I would suggest .0045 inch clearance. They don't generally come with rings so you need to get them separately. Jim

Mine were EMGO ( JCC Marked on Pistons) and came with rings, wrist pins and circlips)
Paid about $100 from an Ebay source.

I use GPM pistons in all my Commandos, Road and Race. No problems with pistons or rings. For 750s, the pistons c/w rings or the rings seperately- which will also fit the old Hepolite pistons- are available in STD, +.020", +.030", +.040", +.060" from Andover Norton direct, if your dealer does not stock them (because he makes more on the JPs/Emgos?). And when your barrel is past the +.060"s we will shortly have the 750 barrels again.
