I thought this would be easy. But, after pulling my cylinder today and finding out that I still have the Combat suicide pistons, (only about 5000 miles on them) I have been online trying to find pistons. Old Britts has Italian ones for sale and an "economy" set. JS doesn't list them and neither does Wiseco. I want good pistons but don't want to wait for shipment from the UK. I am also having a bit of sticker shock since I wasn't expecting this just before summer.
What is the best stock piston to put back in a 1972 Combat motor?

I need to hurry on this one too!! It was 80 degrees here in North Carolina today!
Cheers, Dan.

Probably the best pistons going right now is the JCC made piston sold under many brands. I suspect that would be the "economy piston" Jim

In the UK the JCC pistons are branded as 'Hepolite', and they come with Hastings (USA) rings - If you bought from any UK source they would most likely be Hepolite.

I have them in my Combat, and am more than happy with them - I've yet to hear any negative press about them from anyone else either.

I brought a set of Hepilite pistons from RGM 3 days delivery time from England to Australia and only 83 pounds, still a lot cheaper than any where from Aussie dealers, even with postage.

Hi, I had bought my economy pistons from Carl Hokanson , they were supplied with good US made rings (dunno if they are hastings or elsewhere!) , and worked fine....plus a nice guy to deal with !

I also have used the JCC pistons on several engine rebuilds. No issues to date.
