I've been looking for parts for my monoshock build. I wanted a hydraulic clutch, but the CNW kit is way out of my price range. This option lookls good, I might just order one.

Thats a cheap Chinese copy of the kits made by Magura, which in themselves are not that great, being rather fragile and easily damaged. Best option for converting to hydraulic clutch are the excellent kits made by Hebo, and commonly used on off road machinery. These cost quite a bit more money than the Chinese rubbish, but are well made, and spare parts are available.

I think the best one is comnoz'/cnw. completely metal tough and hidden/ brembo mc is super high quality

I fitted a Magura kit to a bike of mine, and was not at all impressed. The Hebo kits use a slave cylinder, which actuates a short length of bowden cable, so can be easily fitted to any bike which has OE cable clutch. There are no problems with hydraulic line length, as it very easy to fit a slightly longer bowden cable, if the lines not long enough. Details of the Hebo kit here: http://www.dirtrider.net/drn_tested/eri ... lutch.html

The ratio between master and slave pistons has to be matched to the Commando clutch spring, otherwise one could end up with a stiffer pull than a well set up cable clutch. Also, the lift must be sufficient to free the clutch plates fully at normal operating temperature, otherwise the clutch will drag. I made my own hydraulic clutch release mechanism using a 12 mm Brembo master cylinder and a 1 inch (25.4 mm) single acting slave cylinder. This gives a ratio of approx 1:21 and adequate lift.

Carbonfibre — what was the bike and what were the problems?

Which Magura did you fit? I have one on mine from a CR250 for the last 5 years with no problems!

Here are some old pics:

The one I got is a chineese copy of the magura. I found a kawasaki nissin master cylinder that matches my nissin brake master, so I went with that. I just need a short section of line and to make a junction block and all will fit well. The slave cylinder fits good, and looks as if it will work well for throw. My clutch actuates smoothly and with little effort by hand on the transmission. So the slave should have no problem.
