Tonight I took the leap and ordered in the CNW hydraulic clutch kit . The bike is stock MK 111 and now realize the original left side switch housing will likely have to go . So any ideas ? Some research says Honda HM-28QB-T or even MikesXS for a L.H. chrome switch #12-0041 .

I used the one below from Domino (I only found out later that it’s the same one fitted to 961s), but mines a pre mk3.
Not the cheapest option, but before buying it I wasted much more buying cheapo ones off of ebay that were utter crap. And buying a 70s Japanese one that simply didn’t work as it was wired differently internally (normally open vs normally closed etc).
So my advice is, don’t be put off by a slightly higher price for good quality switches. Jus’ ain’t worth it.
The Honda ones that Matt sells look good and will be top quality.

Pre MkIII here , but I have had Matts switchgear for a number of years and still going strong.
I bought both sides to keep a symmetrical look.

You may need one of these

Can't be used with the 850 Mk3 switch cluster.

Oh bugger 😕 missed that bit
It's starting to look like the MK 111 original switch cluster will have to go , in favor of a Japanese one , independent of the CNW MC setup that will arrive in the mail soon .
I'll contact a Honda parts dealer soon in Toronto .
Or even a wrecker in the GTA .

On the right side of the handlebars , I'll likely have to retain the original R.H. switch gear , as it has the adaptor plate for the Grimeca smaller MC already there in place .

First things first . Also the outer cover I'm told needs to go into the machine shop for enlarging at cable point entry .
Enjoy .

Not a biggie to enlarge the outer cover for the hydraulic fitting...Yes I missed the vital point that your cycle is a "MKIII"... happy as with the clutch kit and the stock "MKII" switch gear ...enjoy..😉

A drill is all you need for that.

Use the same switch. Works well and fits nicely 👍

You will be dazzled by the components of the CNW kit.Almosr too pretty to be installed! You should have no problem drilling the outer cover. I just went by stepping up the size of bore a little each time using a drill motor.Worked fine as I am not a machinist

Received the CNW system today .
Ordered in the K&S Technologies L.H. switchgear this evening .
Tomorrow I go get a Vacuum pump for the brake line bleeding , Parts Source or Cdn. tire ? , no NAPA's near me .. CNW instructions I have a few small issues with . Like Vaccum (SP.) , anal I know ..) , Step #12 , Step # 22 , I'll buy a bottle of DOT 5 brake fluid too .

You will love the way this unit works. I would definitely use the DOT5 as it is more forgiving.

Mike I took the Norton over to Canadian Tire . They don't have DOT 5 Brake fluid . They do have a Vacuum pump kit for bleeding brake lines at $80 + $14 taxes . They had a 17/64 " drill bit , which I purchased . Nearby was Parts Source , which had no DOT 5 fluid as well . They do have a different make of hydraulic brake vacuum pump kit for $78 + $13 taxes .
Looking at what I have/use already here , I have a couple of syringes and tube line for drawing out fluid and bubbles from the bottom , adding fluid from the top M.C. method . I have a bottle of DOT 3 synthetic and another of DOT 4 , non . Both are sealed tight ( I know non synthetic is hygroscopic . ) , the DOT 3 I use on the front and rear brake systems , the syringe method works quite well on both .
Can I skip the pricey tool method and choose the syringe method instead ?
Amazon just sent me an e-mail saying the switch gear has been shipped .
Slowly moving forward .

Toronto,

Yes, you can pull the fluid with a syringe attached to the bleeder nipple on the slave cylinder. Once you have filled the line and slave, you can start pumping the lever to build pressure.

You can also, as mentioned in the instructions, use DOT 4 or 5 in the system.

Let me know if you have any other questions at all. Best to reach me at nortonworks@fone.net

Thank you Matt .
I'll pull the outer cover , drill and fit , bleed with syringe , all after the switch gear arrives within a week or so .
