How long to get oil pressure to rods?

How long does it take to get adequate oil pressure to rod shells?
1. at decent idle say 1000 rpm?
2. at 2500 rpm?

Well, Steve, that all depends if the system is all full of oil, as it should be... or if the pump is sucking air because all the oil's in the sump lubing the cam. Define the scenario :mrgreen:

If the crank and galleys are full it would be about instantly.

Yes in a prior run engine just sat up over night or longer with most the oil still in tank. Would the sludge trap stay full if crank is left near TDC?

If the tank is full of oil the sludgetrap would stay full no matter where the engine was stopped.

Oh yeah almost forgot about the constant connected oil hose supply refilling wet sump ooze, unless something put in the way of that.

You should have adequate oil pressure just from using the kickstarter,before the engine even starts.
