Zero oil pressure to head
It has been awhile since I used photobucket so here goes
Zero oil pressure to head

You DOUBLE checked the sealing washer arrangement is contacting the cover as expected? Verified compression of the rubber?

Feed and return pipes on the right way round? Something I've done in the past!

Oil pump gasket on the correct way? Is the pump turning? Is the itty bitty woodruff key sheared? Is the proper spring in the PRV?

I too run a MKIII timing cover.
The only thing I had to do was to file a little clearance so the sealing washer adapter would set flush on the pump.

I checked for interference on the washer and it is good. The oil pump gasket is on correctly. The oil feed and return lines sre correct.Today I will take the cover off and lines and pump and check for any restrictions? Everything else matches up.I will bypass the oil cooler on the return line as well.It is a mystery.

Does any oil get past the gauge fitting on the timing cover? It doesn't look like a normal banjo fitting - maybe your gauge set up is at fault.

On my other bike when it is cold it reads 60psi there is just a splash coming out .No where near what it should be.I will be digging abit deeper this arvo .Take off the cover pump & lines check for obstructions .Use and air gun to check oilways.

Oil pump gasket reversed ? Undo the rocker feed pipe at the head and observe for oil pumping mess all over the floor. Also there were MK 111 timing cover oil passages reported that were never drilled out on a very bad day at the factory. O.M.F.G.

Well sat there this morning with the cover off again determined to see something.
and there it was looking me straight in the face der I could not believe it after looking
at other covers and checking measurements there it wasn't the oil gallery plug

Mate, thanks for posting.

I am starting a ground up MKIII rebuild this year.

Cheers

We all forget the odd simple fitting, the main thing is you tested and stopped as soon as you got the wrong result before any permanent damage.

Thanks for closing the loop. We all use the rubber end of the pencil occasionally. Good job testing with a gage, saved your engine.
