How heavy?

Nigel , how on earth do you stay alive while riding a bike in traffic without mirrors?
Not legal here, but I wouldn't want to try it even if it was.
I feel vulnerable when riding with just one mirror.
But then, the drivers in the UK are a lot more considerate of motorcyclists than our drivers are.

Glen

Too bad you didnt weigh out all those stock bits as you excised them and then we could get
an idea of what items should be the first to go.
The original disk and caliper probably fairly heavy and unsprung at that.

Rose tinted goggles I fear...not my experience lately! Cars keep getting bigger but the lanes do not.

If I were to use it on long runs often, on multi lane motorways doing lots of lane changing etc, I'd probably feel the same. But I really only use the bike for short, back lane blasting to be honest.

In 2007 I spent a month riding in England and Scotland, about 3000 miles travelled.
The drivers in general there were much more alert than here, no question.
On arriving home, It was shocking to deal with home drivers and all of their ignorant mistakes that could kill you.

Yes I saw that. A tad disappointing. Probably save more weight going tubeless!

Maybe we should use Helium instead of air in the tyres?!

However, in the same thread someone points out the cNw brake rotor is almost 2lbs lighter than the stock lump.

You win some, you lose some eh?!

The stock rotor, with the holes is supposed to be a half a pound less. Not a lot but hey better than nothing.
...and of course it looks cool! :)

Close up photos please Baz...
How heavy?

A rotor drilled and ground 1 mm gives -0.5 kg. A custom mounting plate made of alloy should bring almost -0.5 kg. Use of a lightweight Brembo caliper will probably shave off another 1.5 kg.

Fitting the 2:1 pipe allows removal of a lot of ‘stuff’. I knocked up cNw / FEss ‘hybrid’ footrests (sorry Matt!) and I had to remove the centre stand anyway as it was dragging on left handlers.

Saving weight also cleans up the aesthetics IMHO:

How heavy?

Eddie don't forget to machine the centre out of your kickstart lever as Ludwig did!!!!!
Cool looking bike a little bit cleaner than mine

Nigel - your bike looks very good . Note from pic you have standard forks ... Why not Japanese? Thin walled and more rigid because of larger OD .. and with alloy yokes quite a weight save

I am really surprised to read this!!
I have to use the M25 quite often and the standard of driving here is appalling in my opinion it's hard to imagine people driving worse!!
Good luck
