Not hobot's, as he's based out of Arkansas. I wonder if the holes in the steel plates wouldn't help with slippage when using the stock bronze turds.... Who cares; the Barnetts are the bee's knees!

Twin chain rather than triplex –weren’t these fitted than the works Commando racer :?:

Some of the factory race bikes used two row chains for the primary, but I don't know if all of them did. This is a picture I took some years ago of the double row chain primary on one of the F750 monocoque racers. The chain isn't visible in the picture, but it is definitely a double row, not triple. This particular racer is now in Jamie Waters' collection.

I have been told that "Andy Chain" supplies a double row that out performs the stock triple row both in strength and longevity. I haven't had time to look it up yet.

The the cut-down basket for the "holy" double-row setup, waisted right up to the circlip lip!

One thing for sure, the stock clutch package weighs somewhat more than a medium-sized fishing boat anchor...

True that. Years ago I tried an aluminum clutch drum (from Fair Spares, maybe?) to save weight with the stock triple row chain, back before belt drives were available, and it ate the sprockets after one race meet.

I have one of those for a Triumph, sitting on the shelf about 8 or 10 years now. I've been waiting to hear from ANYONE that has ever used one.

I think it's going to stay on the shelf for a while...

Yes Ken, but as I am sure you know these clutches use AJS Stormer plates and diaphragm which are smaller than Commando ones.

Norman White made me a belt drive using these plates/diaphragm last year.

Yes. I bought a belt drive using those plates from Norman back in '89 at his Thurxton shop, and used it for the next 20 years or so in my 750 featherbed/Commando race bike. It's a great setup, and I'll probably use it again on another bike. I only recently replaced it with a larger Newby belt drive when I switched to a 920 engine and nitrous.
