Hi Gang

Wonder if anyone can help me?

I am rebuilding my 1972 Combat and have an issue with the headlight wiring. For some reason, when switching to highbeam the dip is remaining on, but dim and when the voltage is checked it has a 6 volts coming from somewhere. When the dipswitch is clicked back to dip, the dip brightens and there is a glow in the mainbeam warning light.

The bike has had a new wiring harness and handlebar switches and I have check for earths but cannot see any.

Anyone got any ideas?

Yours John

When you say Hi-Lo-Gr, when you look at the back of the bulb, from where are refering to?

Hi,
I just took a look at my installation, and I have two relays (Hi-Lo) with my halogene bulb. The plug seen from the driver's position, connector at the top is for Lo, connector at the right is for Hi and at the left is for Gr (pos). (Right and left when sitting on the bike).

A mismatch when I installed the relays gave me the symptoms you are referring to.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for that and may explain a few things.

Will have a go when I next get 5 mins and confirm.

Thanks once again

Yours John
