I've just fitted a new interstate low level header pipe on the right hand side and the pipe, whilst fitting up to the silencer o.k. and running parallel to the Frame rail, it's quite a bit tighter to the Frame than the one I've just took off. There's only about 1/4" to 3/8" gap. OK let's say 5/16" I haven't started it yet but can you see this being a problem, vibration movement will be amplified further away from the source, yes?

That close is how design is supposed to fit so no fouling of kicker swing and as the main motion is up/dn and back/froth not in/out should be just right. Check fouling at front of engine covers. Some are able to pry and bash w/o harm into order if already darn nice fit as yours. The motions involved are on 1/8 inch scale in that run area.

If that's a vertical gap, it might be tight, if it's horizontal it should be ok.
