Just returned from Ottawa ,Ont. Can. , visiting Felix Gaim's farm , Old Bastards Sunday meet and swap. Picked up a later dual coil , genuine. Also he threw in a volt regulator ,6G80744 9179 printed under the grease/dirt. $20 Cdn. Hoping this can be used on Norton . Any thoughts ? :|

I got a new HD coil , Dyna I think , Been working perfectly for over a year now , nice & neat to .

Thanks ,I thought it would work on a Norton. Don't see why the finned rectifier wouldn't work too...

If it's the black 5Ohm dyna coil, it'll work fine. Been running mine for 5 years with no issues. Tucks up nicely once you remove the stock coil mount.

Points or EI?
Dyna makes a 3.0 and a 5.0 . Will the 5.0 work with EI?

Looking at it unless my eyeballs went colorblind overnight it is black. It says Harley Davidson Motor Co. Inc. cast in and next to the dual output leads in white paint 31614-83 02-86. I'd be using it with a Boyer MK 1V electronic ign.

You want 4.6 to 5 ohm coils from what I've read, and I have a 5 ohm Harley coil that works great with my Trispark.

The Dynacoil DC7-1 5ohm coil is a great unit and I used to run it with the Surefire before the Maggie.

So is this genuine HD coil a Dynacoil ? If not can it be used ? Voltage regulator free to any forum person who pays postage .

I think it became an assumption a while back in the thread. Maybe a little more info on what you got there. Photo?
