06-1046

The andover norton site lists

What do the experts think?
I will include the before and after photo so far also! And thank you for all the help I want this bike to be 100% correct....

Good luck on finding a real set of 06.1046. All the repros I've seen are somewhat different, but close. I have an original set, but they are slightly bent, could easily be straightened and re-chromed. If you really want to know, I'll measure them up somehow for you if someone can tell me how to actually measure them. I got a new set from Walridge, but they're slightly different. If I were really motivated, I'd fix my old ones. Should have done that in the beginning.

BTW, do you have the original lever sets? Here's a picture of my Walridge set on the bike with the originals on top. Notice the RS is bent up, but you can clearly see that the rise part is larger on the OEM and the angle somewhat different.

Hey! Dog t did you see how my seat turned out I got foam and cover from rj leighton! Baxter has had most of the stuff I am looking for I may spring for the right lever combo choke from them! And Thank you! I may see if they have an original bars.... My tank is almost back too original paint! I probably have 50 hrs of wet sanding into it! Thanks again for all the help. Doesnt seem like too many know about the details of the s type. The sanding of my tail light piece is along coming too. That you can see in the photo. Thanks again

I hope your tail light fairing is metal flake silver.

I almost bought the lever sets from Baxter but I found a place, I forget where here in the US, that sold me OEM parts to replace the bad parts in mine. Mind you, the OEM lever sets do not have a hole for mirrors. I actually think they were made by Amal but I confuse easily. I just sort of remember the part numbers in the book were Amal numbers which of course are no longer available.

Where are your pictures, I'd like to see them.

Hi Dave

This inspired me to compare the handlebars that came with the ‘69 750 S I just bought to the bars on my ‘72 that came from Phil at FairSpares in 1998. The 750 S have the same bend points just slightly more pullback than the FairSpares bars. I was going to replace the originals, but now think I will do as you suggest and get them replaced.

Thanks

David
