I am searching for an on-line catalogue of Girling publication that list the part numbers, shock specs, shock dimensions, spring numbers/colors, spring rates and such.
My main interest is 1967 P11 , but I will need a reference for all Norton sooner or later.

Here is the page out of the 1965 catalog, but it is not helpful with 1967, unless you assume.....

Probably need to look at the Matchless page to find the P11.
Don't call em 'hybrids' for nothing.....

There is a code stamped faintly in the bottom of each Girling shock. I am not finding any reference to these numbers to help identify what the Girling actually is.
Anyone have information or catalog listing for the numbers shown here?

I'm finding that number in my Lucas Girling 1960-1968 catalog under Norton 750cc N15CS and P11 1965-1968. I don't have a scanner but the only info there under Girling is:

Suspension unit: 64054590
Ferrule tube and bush ass'y: 64533645
Spring: 9054/94
Outer Dirt Shield: 64532981A

Did you check Christian's Archives? Edit - It's in there under Technical - Electrical (http://archives.jampot.dk/)

Russ

Thanks Russ, is this the Lucas 43 page catalog from which your info came?

Reviving this thread to ask a question on Andover Norton shocks - are the AN shocks essentially identical to the original Girlings? Or, are they improved in any way over the originals?

I ask because I am considering purchasing a set from AN but want to hear from those who have purchased and used them - are you satisfied?

I'm using the NJB shocks on my '72 Commando. Don't know exactly what's inside - nothing fancy - but they look and work like the stock Girlings. I thought the price was very reasonable.

Thanks to all - at $99.00 U.S. these appear to be far less expensive than the NJBs.

When you add shipping to US orders directly from NJB the cost goes up quite a bit. The only other difference is that if you order directly from NJB I believe you can order the length and spring rate whereas I'm not sure you can do that with Walridge. May be important to some or others not.

I could be wrong as it doesn't seem to mention it but I'm guessing the prices on the NJB website probably include 20% VAT which customers outside the UK/EU shouldn't pay.

Huge thanks for the Waldridge sale sheet and yes the NJB shocks are a real deal. Had a great conversation with Sales and got free shipping for many very heavy parts I ordered. Could not be happier.

Mike and crew at WalridgeMotors are great to deal with ....
