Is it the same internals in a box from a mid 50:s Dominator as in a Commando? Forks, gears, different ratios?

As nobody else has answered, unless a 'yes' or 'no' answer will suffice then I think the general answer would be no.
If you want a more detailed answer then things get complicated as there were changes made to the Commando internals between '68 and '75 (850 Mk3) so not all Commando gearbox internals are the same.

Yes L.A.B. the general answer is no, on all counts, the forks (internals) were wrong as they were built by Norton who did not get it quite right, hence the Lansdown fork kit, gears; these were different ratios depending on exactly what bike/year/ model you are talking about, there is a gearbox website which lists most of these differences.

I guess the common threads between them all are:
1. Gearbox mounting system, and
2. Top gear is 1:1
The one big difference - LH change on MKIII
So... if the ratio suits you.. use it!

Thanks for your answers, I finally found a list of the different gear ratios used in the different AMC boxes, very small differences btw.
