G15/N15 rear suspension clearance

Hi all,

I am in need of the approximate clearance between lower shroud and chainguard on G15/N15 models. Lower Girling shrouds measure ø55 mm, those of NJB shocks measure ø56 mm. I am considering wider springs and no shrouds, but need to verify the clearance.

Your help would be appreciated.

I've received a few replies. A correctly shimmed Girling (replica) shock with exposed springs provides a 4.6 mm clearance to the chainguard; Hagon shocks have wider springs and the clearance btw. springs and chainguard drops to approx. 4.1 mm.
Ikon narrow series shock springs are even wider : The calculated clearance of a correctly shimmed shock is 1.9 mm only, however, the spring seat is higher up at the body, and I hope clearance will benefit from this. I will post a picture of the trial fitting.
