Hi , just a quick question, 73 750 mk5
60mph @ 4000rpm is this stock gearing , I need to count the teeth on rear sprocket.
Cheers.

Sounds like a 19T front and that's being generous with that posted speed and RPM.

Thanks , I think I will order a slightly bigger front , she sounds like it's buzzing , I could be passed by a speeding Morrie minor . Cheers

My second car (top speed 70++ mph)
I still remember with (1977) two mates in the car on the motorway and an old lady in a Vaxhall Viva (HB maybe) racing us, I dropped them off later and a front wheel (with brake drum still attached) parted company just up the road.
There might have been a song about it.

But, you could be an extra in "stone" (the movie) and pop wheelies everywhere! (apparently that commando had 17 on the front)
My 850 pulls just under 3500 at 60.
21 on the front. (it has cNw primary though)
Cheers

Just did the maths - for your bike at 60mph (based on your advised 4000rpm)
20T = 3800rpm
21T = 3620rpm
22T = 3450rpm

As @gortnipper advises - 21 should be good!

Cheers

Sweet will check , mostly out of stock in nz :(, haven't tried a wheelie on the Norton ! I could wheelie for over a mile in the 80s , not a road bike though , even one handers, side saddle , crossed legs etc, all 5th gear at the beach , great fun .

Just had a count so 19T and 42T rear . Thanks will look at chart and order something . Cheers
