I was wondering what some of you "other than purests" might suggest as a solution for those fixed shin busting pegs . All I have found so far is the cheapies on fleabay that are cad or tin plated. I assume my supports are stock ....they have about 12mm holes ( no threads ) in them. Been looking at the usual Harley fare but don't see anything that looks like a solution. Have you noticed that most of that stuff is steel and weighs about 3 lbs? Whats the deal with that? (I am talking about the driver's pegs)

3lbs is nothing when you have a 1600lb Harley.

Can I ask why you are busting your shins on the pegs so much?

I've got some Dunstall rear sets for some undetermined Japanese bike. I was looking at them and holding them next to a set of Norton footrest hangers.

The Dunstalls are folding. You'll have to modify the threaded pegs (either turn them down or bore the Norton side a bit, I'd say the later) and they'd work great and look awesome.

Let me know if you want more info.

Stock style folding pegs are available from Novil (P/N 069967) in England, but I occasionally see some on eBay or at major swap meets like VMD. The stock peg is threaded 7/16-20.

The arms they attach to that came on my bike have no threads in them. Look like they never did . Is that original or were mine maybe drilled out. The holes are 12mm + a few thousanths.

The 1968-1971 models had footpegs welded into the arms (P/N 061052/061053). In 1972 they used the screw in pegs and threaded the arms (P/N 063117/063118). I have used the early arms with badly bent or broken pegs by drilling and tapping for the later style pegs.
