Okay, what are flipper points (this is what we called them but I could be wrong)? Regular points have a metal framework holding one of the contacts, pivoting on a post, and with a curved flat steel spring and a rub block. Flipper points had the contact on the end of a straight flat spring. The rub block was also fastened to this spring. By not having the metal framework, they were a lot lighter. This was considered the hot setup as it allowed higher revs without point float. I do not know how effective they were but we all used them on Triumphs and Nortons. After all, we had Honda 750 riders that needed to be schooled.
