Yeah, them dirty `ol inch & 3/4 TT pipes dont need no stinkin` mufflers, let em roar..

Just bught new silencers and they are very tight on the header pipes. I chopped the the headers so i only had an inch inside but then found the headers were cracked. Just renewed those as well and these are just the same v tight. Should I shorthen the headers again or any tips other than a big hammer?

Hi Fred

I've recently fitted new pipes from Mick Hemmings and they are a perfect fit, so where did your new mufflers come from? If they're tight on both old & new headers they may be undersize.

We must meet up sometime - I'm only a few miles down the road from you'!

Hi Mitch
Downpipes, exhaust/header pipes or whatever those who don't understand our language call them from RGM. Exhausts, silencers, mufflers ditto comment from Keihan (stainless) which are exacty the same as the chrome ones I took off.

I have bought some pipe expanders and will let you know next week.

Expect an update from someone with ruptured pipes next week :D

Headers in the chest freezer overnight, and a wee bit of heat on the mouth of the muffler, some copper slip round the mating area and it should slip in like a good un.
