If you are doing something and you actually feel afraid, it is probably something which you should not be doing. I crashed my 500cc Triton at Phillip Island 3 times in one day at a road-race meeting. I don't think I will race there again or anywhere.

I am a stroke survivor. I discovered that taking a beta-blocker while road-racing a motorcycle greatly improved my riding skills. I watched a video about Casey Stoner - it seems that when he races, he rides at the edge where he is actually afraid. I suggest that fear is caused by the tweak of adrenalin when the rider has a moment - beta-blockers stop that. It is lovely stuff - experienced riders usually know how to recover from difficulties - without the adrenalin, it is much easier. -

Whatever you are taking I need some. My delusion meter is at zero, yours seems to be running at 100%. He was a world champion MotoGP racer for a year. I think he was experienced enough. :)

Fear is just a word, yes I have had my moments riding for over 50 years now but I have never feared anything while riding, sometimes I look back and think, fu ck that was close, and even sliding down the road all I think about it getting through it with min injury and keeping my head off the road without tensioning up, 2 times in my life I have lost the front wheel to loose gravel on the corner, one time up in the range in a high speed corner and seeing the gravel just as the wheel lost its grip, the second time in my own street coming home from work I always come in fast but unknown to me the council had resurfaced the street with new bitumen and stone gravel that day, happened so quick and the bike ended up in the gutter, the worst part about that was scrubbing the gavel out of my skinned left leg, fu ck that was painful, that was back in the late 70s
I can still feel the pain just thinking about it lol.
The problem with Al is too much YouTube and not enough riding time.
