I got my Commando Specialties peashooters in today and was really excited to get them on. I get the old pipes out and looked at the brackets for them and they didnt look right. I see that the pipes dont fit right with these PO brackets. For some reason the pipes before were mounted lower. Has anyone else come across brackets like these? Am I just looking at these things wrong?

If I run the pipes up to these brackets I notice they are an inch or so higher than the holes that my brackets align with. I dont want to force them on as I am sure after 100 miles the header will crack or something.... Not to mention I believe the header pipe will touch the kickstart mount too.

Please if anyone has seen this let me know. I am looking at the old britts site and i see the passenger brackets look a little different and the muffler bracket totally different than what I have.

Check it out...

I appreciate anyones assistance on this. Any upclose pics of other bikes or information shared will get me back on track. Even anecdotal stories that entertain will be of much value as well.

Cheers,

Ben

Your mounting bracket and plate seem to be messed up. Don't give up on the pipes until you have you mounts setup right. I can't send picture of mine cause they are not stock.

You do not appear to have the correct set of plates for Peashooters.

Only the outer diamond shaped plate is for Peashooters, the other two plates are for the black cap/bean can annular discharge silencer/muffler [Edit: or the long reverse cone Interstate silencer as the two inner mounting plates are a similar shape].

The upper metalastic mounting thread should be poking through the upper hole in the diamond shaped plate and not what appears to be an extra hole.

yeah im seeing the passenger peg is much more even with the top rubber silencer mount. I am not giving up on the pipes but am going to fit the right brackets and get this damn thing back on the road.

Thanks for the quick reply and extensive pictures. I was able to see other peoples bikes and noticed when I saw that pass peg mount compared to the rubber mount it made me say awww crap. I just didnt know where the hell these brackets came from.

Now that they are identified, I guess I can sell them to the highest bidder :) Also going to have to wipe off the old pipes and sell them too.

Thanks again, you guys are top notch.
