EV drawbacks

<Any technology that has be adopted by bribery and/or legislation will eventually fail.>

Problem is that politicians operate on a very short time frame. They are rarely around to
face the outcome of their decisions. So it is entirely possible that ICE will indeed be banned
and they will be blissfully elsewhere (with their dosh) when the future arrives.

Hmmmmmmm.... on facebook it's "The New Tesla Calendar" with a different Tesla fire for each month. If you scroll LEFT, it works.

Not funny to Tesla/owners, SICKENING to many, funny to others...

It's funny (PREDICTABLE FAILS) to those who actually understand science/physics and sickening to those blindly chasing a flawed ideology.
It's not practicle.

Now, the cost of "buy-back" from the auto makers will be subsidized by taxpayers as well....

I would love to see the working out, as I simply do not believe it.

That figure will include the current massive tax perks… which is an obvious con, because unless the government can prove it is managing the coffers with LESS tax income, then they are obviously forced to make up for it in other tax rises. Which, of course, means it is NOT a net saving…

It will also be based on exaggerated, and as yet totally unprovable predictions on battery life expectancy.

The last study I read tried to negate the cost of battery changes by factoring in ‘comparable’ engine change. Really? How many 10 year old cars get engine changes ?!

It also estimated £5k for a battery change.

Mercedes are currently estimating the cost of a battery change at €15-20,000 euros, estimated by some at likely being required somewhere between 5-10years.

Yep there's no way you are going to get a battery change for £5k !!!

An article in today's newspaper suggests that electric cars are being written off by the insurers following minor collisions...

Yes, any risk of damage to the battery carrier that risks it no longer being impervious to moisture is a huge fire risk. This is made worse by battery carriers being a structural member of the monocoque chassis.

The safest way would be for the battery carrier to be mounted on some kind of isolastics, but that would add weight, it would also require a heavier chassis and, worst of all, would necessitate a smaller battery (EOMs top priority currently is RANGE).

With the global price now elevated to $85/bbl, lots of headroom between the $60 Russian cap and latest market price for the Russians to fall between and be attractive.

All in, full out US, Canada, Mexico, Norwa production around a US organized buying consortium could solve this, but not with this team in charge.

The U.S. rallied its European allies behind a $60-a-barrel cap on Russian oil, but one of its closest Asian allies is now buying oil at prices above the cap,https://www.wsj.com/articles/japan-...buys-russian-oil-at-prices-above-cap-1395accb

Another recent UK news article suggests that multistorey carparks may not be suitable for the weight of electric cars on the basis that an electric vehicle is ~500 kg heavier than a petrol engined equivalent.

Meanwhile....
Since the COVID-19 pandemic has been revealed as the prelude to the Great Reset, many people now realize the extent to which science has been corrupted to serve the interest of politicians and globalists. This includes climate “science.”

The Vancouver City Savings Credit Union, known as Vancity, has teamed up with ecolytiq, one of the climate engagement technology firms in Europe, to provide the first Visa Carbon Counter in Canada.

“Vancity is taking another step in its commitment to climate action. It will be the first financial institution in Canada to offer its individual and business members a way to estimate the CO2 emissions that come from their purchases,” the company said in a statement.

The ecolytiq software calculates personal environmental impacts, such as CO2 values, on the basis of payment transactions....more fun on uts way to a bank near you
