Erratic charging voltage

FWIW, last year I stuck a little LED voltmeter on my top clamp - thought it would be a handy thing. At low rpm it worked fine but at higher speed/load it would go all over the place voltage-wise - from 0V to 14-15V. Clearly it couldn't get along with the ignition system interference.

Great minds think alike - I did exactly the same thing -

Erratic charging voltage

Got it off Amazon, wired it into the headlamp shell. Works great. It's hopefully temporary, as I'm now fitting an Eclipse LED monitor.

I bought a little digital voltmeter from Battery Tender that plugs right into my charging pigtail. I have the Eclipse single LED voltmeter too and find it not bright enough in the daytime (which is when I ride). Have also used the Signal Dynamics unit. Still looking.
