Thanks Guys, that might be the way to go for me. I pulled the Zener diode when I went home for my lunch break. I have a diode testing setting on my multimeter. When I test with positive attached to the diode's wire post, I get ".639" When I swap the leads, I get ".OL".

I went ahead ond ordered the PodTronics from Ella at Old Britts. Question about the installation.... what do you do with the wires that were connected to the recitfier/Zener? Do you just cap them off? I will run all new wires.

Well Johny I hope you just cap them off & I think so. I am ( finaly) finishing the installation of a new Sparx alternator and the solid state Reg/Rec unit so I have disconnected ALL the wires including the ground wires to my stock parts including the Assimulator. I'm not sure I needed to disconnect all the ground wires but it seemed cleaner to do it all. Please someone chime in & tell me if I should have left the ground wires connected for anything like the Zenor, rectifyer or Assimulator. I'm finishing this thing tonight as tomorrow the 10th will be my 51st B-Day and I sure as Eden am going ridding on my bleeding B day!
