Btw with back to back (expensive) pulls my chevy V8 went form 355ish hp on propane to 366+ but .5 degree cam advance. Prior we tried 2-3 degree creep ups and builder thought that was it and he won our bet on my weird combo not making more power than the propane carb rated to feed. Built as pure torque monster never need more than upper 4000 or tires roll off rims and aero dynamics taking flight. Have dyno in a semi trailer set up which was ventalated ok but more like operating a steam locomotive with all the pipes and valves and big clock face guages and extra loud being that close enclosed.
 
From experience I suspect that number of 90 horsepower for the Yamaha V max ,which they must have obtained by using first principles, might have been close to the true value. Normal practice is to calibrate load cells using a dead-weight tester, and his Chief Engineer was probably technically very sound.

That actually makes a lot of sense. The way I know when I've made a performance improvement is the time taken from one corner down a particular medium length straight with two gear changes to the next corner. If the bike takes more effort to slow for the next corner or the gear changes come earlier, that is also an indication of an improvement. In the end, it really comes down to lap times.

That vibration app has gone straight into the handy app folder on my phone (along with thread pitch, nuts & bolts and inclinometer.

Vibration is not a problem depending on where you put it by adjusting the balance factor. This was what Norton was trying to contend with in competing against the CB750 Honda for sales. The design of a big vertical twin is what it is - you either love it or you don't.

Unless you isolate the vibes, with isolastics ?!!?
 
Much as I rub Rohan raw on Peel performance above all else to was her flat out disappearing act I absolutely could not feel anything but her thrust and the sense of tire patch interface exquisitely. Not making one numb is one thing but not able to feel anything of power train is uncannty fabulous, better than sinking old flying carpet with the annoying fringe vibrating. We should know what is common vibe measured, average measured, normal measured and better than above measured, not just Nortons neither eh.
