Can I use a dual output coil with my stock points system , and if so , any suggestions on which type or manufactuer?

= No, as the original double points do not work as a wasted spark system like most electronic systems do, so each set of points needs its own coil.

I use a Kawasaki dual output coil with my Boyer. The coil is from a Z550 and has the advantage that, unlike many japanese coils, it has removable HT leads so you can replace them without replacing the coil.
They're not too expensive either.

I have a dual-fire job from Dyna Performance Ignitions and a Boyer MkIII ignition. Bought the coil from Old Britts. About 75 US.

If you are running points and wire both trigger leads to the dual lead coil, wouldn't that make it a wasted spark system like the Boyer? Never tried it, but my common sense (or lack thereof) says it should work.

Might need a couple of diodes in there to stop feed back perhaps?

Yeah, the more I think about it, it would never have the circuit open to collapse the coil.

Won't work.
