Drain plug thread size

A buddy of mine has stripped the threads of the sump drain plug on his 72 Interstate. Anybody know what the thread size is? He'd rather repair with an insert than just going with a bigger bolt.

I Helicoiled mine. Went with 1/2" oil drain plug with a magnet that are commonly available from most auto parts stores.
