Anyone out there changed the position or the whole handlebars on the dominator ?? I would like to raise mine up for more comfort or change to a straighter bar . I know it would take the cafe look away but may give it a shot .
Also need to get the ohlins looked at as it is hard as a rock and I'm a short arse so would like it dropped by a few MM .

Hi Don't know where you live but I have a suspension specialist set up my bike for me. It makes a world of difference. Don't know anyone who has changed their bars but if you do post some photos.

Ohlins stuff is great. But in many ways it is too adjustable, at least for a layperson. Its too easy to get lost in the settings and over / under compensate etc.

I and a mate enlisted the services of a mobile Ohlins technician at a track day and it was well worth it, my mate claimed it 'transformed' his bike!

Are you in the UK Gary? There are several places that will do a 'static set up' for a few quid. There's FTR in the south, MCT in the East, BG Motorsport at Sliverstone, and many others.

I am currently in the process of upgrading the forks and shock on my BMW R nine T and will definitely enlist the help of an expert in getting the static set up to a good 'baseline' starting point.

IMHO it would be almost a crime NOT to do this on a bike like yours with the high specification of suspension it has! I would even argue that Norton dealers should be trained to do this for customers when bikes are collected, it is a 'bespoke' motorcycle after all, and that would really be the 'cherry on the cake' of a bespoke service.

Regarding handle bars, you can keep the cafe look, keep the plain top yoke, and fit clip ons with risers, anything from 1" to 3" are offered by these guys:

Cheers guys for the replys , I'm from Cambridge uk so I will book the bike into MCT suspensions in Stowmarket.
I think having a suspension specialist must be key !! It's well beyond me to tackle the ohlins .
I will check out the handlebar risers :D

Hi Garry It was explained to me that the front end is a stock Ohlins unit and the rear is the same as that on an R1. As you said too complicated for me. I thought it was too harsh and would have softened it. As it happened it was the opposite.

Call them and ask for Darren. Really knows his stuff, doesn't bullshit and is very easy to converse with. I'm sure he'll sort you out.
