The '66-68 Master Parts book (and 1967 P11 spares) lists the contact breaker housing as "complete with bushing" (P/N 033036) and a separate listing for a needle bearing for P11A. And there is no seal or thrust washer listed. This must be for what I was calling the "early" housing. It is odd that the '66-'68 book shows some of the breaker housing parts as "ALL 1967-1968" but others (like the housing) as "ALL P11A". There is no other housing listed. The 1968-70 Commando parts list the housing as P/N 034049 and shows two bearing numbers, the thrust washer and oil seal. I would guess that some '67 models got the needle bearing/bush housings, but I doubt that all the P11 engines I have had the housings replaced with the two needle bearing, oil seal and thrust washer types in service. More likely the design was changed and not picked up on the pre-Commando parts listings until the Commando parts were added.

Thank you!

I changed the outside diameter of the thrust washer to match the recessed portion of housing where the oil seal sits. Everything lined up like a charm. Now I’m sitting here looking at my timing cover realizing it isn’t for a 1969.

Is the cover for points on the cam? An Atlas/P11 cover, while slightly different will work for a Commando with the rear points housing. It will dump any oil released by the oil pressure relief valve to the timing chest, but that won't be a problem. You can't go the other way, i.e. use a Commando cover on an Atlas because there is no drillway for the OPRV release.
